About the hike:

Enjoy this 4.4-mile loop trail near North Vancouver, British Columbia. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 26 min to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

The Seymour Grind is a rockier and steeper stretch of the Baden Powell Trail which is popular with both hikers and trail runners. This loop connects the full length of the Seymour Grind with sections of the Bridle and Old Buck Trails. Terrain along these trails varies considerably, with a smooth gravel path on the Old Buck Trail providing a relatively easy descent.

Recommended Hiking Clothing, Footwear and Gear:

  1. Your shoes should be hiking shoes or hiking boots.
  2. Lightweight daypack + 3-4 bottles of water + lunch + snacks (recommended)
  3. Bring a rain jacket (if the sky is overcast or raining)
  4. Sweater or a hoodie (if cold)
