Bowen Island: Killarney Lake: Difficulty - Easy

Details

About the hike:

Enjoy this 7.9 km loop trail near Bowen Island, British Columbia. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 49 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and horseback riding, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

This lovely loop around Killarney Lake is perfect if you're looking for some solitude and a peaceful stroll through nature. The trail itself is mainly a wide and well-maintained gravel path, with a serene boardwalk towards the end. There is a little uphill exercise when you're on the east side of the lake, but this is otherwise an easy, well-shaded walk.

*Fee for the ferry is $13.30 to Bowen Island (Snug Cove). The return ferry is free

*Ticket sales stop 15 minutes before the ferry departure

*The actual time of the hike is 2.5 - 3 hours. Waiting for the ferries and getting to the hike will extend the time of the event
