Baden Powell Trail: Horseshoe Bay to Grouse Mtn: Difficulty - Hard

Details

About the Hike:
Horseshoe Bay to Cypress Resort Parking - this is the most difficult section of the entire trail. It is very steep and has a large rock scree to climb over. Includes great views from Eagle Bluffs and a scenic subalpine walk across the top of Black Mountain (there may be snow).
Cypress Resort Parking to Cleveland Dam - this is a moderately difficult section that is well-maintained, with some fallen trees to climb over. The stretch closer to the dam runs through a neighborhood.

A difficult exercise hike. This trail starts with a relentless uphill climb for the first several hours. The terrain is very rough, with some sections requiring the use of hands for balance. This is a challenging hike which is great to get people in shape.

Before the hike, please complete the safety questionnaire.

*Before pressing attend please be certain you'll attend. In the case of 3 "No-Shows" or 3 "Not Going", attendees may be removed from the group.

Hard, 19.6km (AllTrails) (GPS recorded 22km), 1450meters of elevation gain
Meeting At: Baden Powell Trailhead, West Vancouver (near Horseshoe Bay).
Parking: For those who arrive first to Baden Powell Trailhead (near Horseshoe Bay), there's spots for approximately 10 cars, otherwise you'll have to park in one of the parking lots (above ground or underground) inside Horseshoe Bay's paid parking (pay for 24 hours as 6 hours isn't enough time). From paid parking, it's approximately a 15-20 minute walk to the trailhead (use Google Maps to navigate - sometimes it gives you a ridiculous route so just use your real-time location compared to the destination trailhead). More information in the attached pictures.
