Experience this scenic out-and-back trail near Garibaldi, British Columbia. Often considered a challenging route, it’s a favorite among backpackers, bird watchers, and campers. You’ll likely see others on the trail, as it’s quite popular. Open all year, this route offers beauty in every season. Please note that dogs are not allowed.
The Garibaldi Lake Trail is well-maintained and in great condition. Along the way, you’ll pass Barrier Lake and Lesser Garibaldi Lake—nice spots to pause before reaching the main destination. The early part of the hike winds through steady switchbacks, which can be tiring but are manageable. The reward is Garibaldi Lake, known for its striking color and stunning views.
A day pass is required during the busier seasons, and the parking area tends to fill up quickly—arriving early is the best way to avoid issues.
In spring and fall, expect fog or low cloud cover. If it’s your first time on the trail, downloading an offline map is a smart idea to help stay on track.

- Comfortable shoes:
