Mission~Hoover Lake Viewpoint via Logging Road: intermediate

About the Hike

The trail to Hoover Lake is well marked and can be extended to reach a viewpoint northwest of the lake. You’ll follow a logging road all the way north, which offers several scenic viewpoints along the way (just past the upper turnoff to the lake). At the end of the road, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning view of Stave Lake to the north and the impressive Mt. Robie Reid to the northwest. The hike up the road is easy, while the trail around the lake is slightly more challenging due to small ups and downs.

Recommended Hiking Clothing, Footwear and Gear:

• Comfortable shoes:
  Hiking Boots or Hiking shoes
• Moisture-wicking layers: Choose clothing that keeps you dry and comfortable, such as merino wool or synthetic fabrics.
• Base layer: A lightweight, breathable base layer for colder weather.
• Waterproof jacket: A waterproof and breathable outer layer for rainy days.
• Hat and gloves: For colder weather, choose hats and gloves that are warm and breathable.
• Backpack or bag: A comfortable bag to carry essentials like water, snacks, and extra layers.
