Eagle Lake via Nelson Creek Trail (Loop): Intermediate
Details
About the Hike
READ THE DESCRIPTION
The Nelson Creek Trail begins by linking closely with the Whyte Lake Trail, though most hikers don’t continue all the way toward Eagle Lake. This is likely because access to the lake itself is restricted, as it is enclosed and protected as a water reserve.
The trail is lush and green with a moderate elevation gain, making it an ideal option during shoulder seasons. On the return loop via the Brown Teacup mixed-use trail, hikers can enjoy creative signage and thoughtfully designed trail features.
This loop connects several trails between Nelson Canyon and Cypress Falls Park. Much of the route follows wide access roads, which makes it well suited for group trail runs or walking dogs.
Parking is easy, with a small lot at the trailhead and additional street parking nearby. Even on busy days, finding a spot is typically not difficult.
