About the hike:
This challenging route starts right from Snug Cove upon ferry arrival. We will walk onto the 9:20 am ferry at Horseshoe Bay which means we will head to the boarding lounge before 9 am. If you arrive late and don't see us, get on the ferry if you still can.

We begin with an easy hike to Killarney Lake. After the lake, Hikers Trail Road is a mixed gravel/dirt path, and this is the start of the true ascent. In terms of elevation, think approximately Grouse Grind spread over 1-2 more hours. The terrain starts to get interesting around the junction of the Hikers Trail Road and the North Summit Trail (a mix of dirt, roots, and stones, with no artificial path).

There are two excellent lookout spots along the North Summit Trail: a small spot facing North, midway along this segment, and then the North Peak, which almost has a 360 view around the mountain.

There is a short scrambling section at the top which requires the use of chains. Wear good boots.

Although this route is rated intermediate+ based on elevation gain, some hikers will find it hard or very hard.

*Before pressing attend please be certain you'll attend. In the case of 3 "No-Shows" or 3 "Not Going", attendees may be removed from the group.

*Ticket sales stop 15 minutes before the ferry departure
*The actual time of the hike is 6 hours. Waiting for the ferries and getting to the hike will extend the time of the event
