CSS3 Deep Dive - Building a reusable and modular UI
Details
Doors open at 6:30pm for refreshments and networking. Talk starts at 7.
About the presentation:
Patrick will review the latest trends in CSS3 development along with real-world, practical use cases for today's front end developers. This talk will have lots of demos and code walk throughs. In the end you'll learn about visual patterns and how to build reusable, modular UI components
About the speaker:
I built my first website in 1997 and my first mobile site in 2004 (I was sure it was the next big thing). These days I work for "The Man" as a front end developer at a large Automotive Auction Company. I am lucky enough to get to work with 4 teams on two continents on multiple technology stacks... If I had my way, I would convert PSDs to HTML and CSS all day long. Instead, I spend it trying to keep the 1000s of lines of CSS, JS & HTML (written by devs who do not really care about my OCD) from destroying my very soul. It is a work in progress.
I love building scalable, reusable front end code using modern web standards based techniques. I also enjoy the freedom of a good mobile web browser and have built the front end for native apps, mobile web apps and some hybrids as well. When I am not writing code, I am playing music.
