Shelter Building

We'll talk through general shelter-building considerations, clothing, use of natural materials... then practice building different variations of tarp/ poncho shelters. I will bring some extra tarps and cord, but if you have your own, please bring them.

Feel free to come no matter what your experience level is. If you learn the following knots beforehand, it will make this class easier: bowline, taut-line hitch, sheet bend, jam knot, & fisherman's knot. For those who have mastered those, there are some other knots we could discuss.

Location is Venetia Park basketball court. Drive to the back of the parking lot of Venetia Elementary School. I will make a sign which will be lit by a lantern you can see from the parking lot.
