This time, we’ll be reading The Vegetarian by Han Kang, whose first line intrigued 75% of you to vote for it! "Before my wife turned vegetarian, I’d always thought of her as completely unremarkable in every way."

A surreal novel by Nobel prize winning Kang, we head to Seoul and follow the devastating consequences of Yeong-hye's seemingly innocuous decision to quit eating meat.

Recently voted 87th best novel of all time in the Guardian, and a Booker prize winner, The Vegetarian is a modern classic that takes a look in at familial expectations, autonomy, conformity and the patriarchy
