After a successful debut in 2024, NE1’s Dog on the Tyne has become a popular event in Newcastle’s summer calendar, offering a free and fun day out on the Quayside for dog parents and their pups.

Back for its third year, the event returns to Wesley Square on Newcastle Quayside on Saturday 1st August 2026, from 11am to 3pm, with dog yoga, selfie stations, an agility course, market stalls, breed-specific dog walks and the first-ever Wag Awards, featuring categories including Waggiest Tail, Best Dog Trick and Best Dog-Owner Lookalikes.

Plan is to meet at 10:45 at Quayside Market, get an ice cream if the weather is nice, and check out the walks and (hopefully) pet a bunch of dogs 🐕 I'm definitely making a sign saying "Let me pet you dog" 😆🥰
