Make a dinner for families at Ronald McDonald House
Details
It has been too long since we have volunteer at my favorite charity. Ronald McDonald House holds a special place in my heart. Very few charities provide for people who have done nothing to deserve their lot in life. Families of children who are at Children's Hospital are able to stay at Ronald McDonald House free of charge while they take care of their kiddo. We are privileged to make them a hot meal which can do wonders for families who spend long days caring for their seriously ill children. We will cook the meal from scratch in the facility kitchen.
I will purchase all the items, and we can split the cost.
IF you have not worked with us in the past you will have a few forms to complete.
Responsibilities:
- Sign the important waivers that I will send you prior to the volunteer event.
- There is a monetary commitment for this opportunity. The group is responsible for preparing a menu and purchasing all of the food ingredients. I will purchase the food and we will split the cost. We usually spend around $45 per person.
- Meal teams are asked to provide food for 40-50 people, although we cannot guarantee how many guests will attend given our families unique schedules.
- RMHC will provide cookware (suitable for cooking for large groups), serving supplies (ceramic tableware, metal silverware, cups, mugs, etc.), and kitchen supplies and basics (gloves, cleaning supplies, paper towel, etc.).
- If you would prefer to use disposable plates and plasticware, we ask teams to please provide their own.
- No at-home meal preparation can be done in advance!
- Make sure everyone in your group is healthy, all volunteers must be completely illness/symptom free (cold, flu, fever, stomach virus, etc.)
