Good photography is all about using the light and arranging your subjects in the photo frame! This class is part lecture, part slideshow, and part sharing. We will cover the well known and not so well known tips for making your images more powerful and successful. Examples from portraits, travel, street, landscape and wildlife from the instructor will be explored.
Please bring examples of your best photos and ones you think could have been better on a flash drive or on your camera. Sharing images is not required but encouraged. You will learn a lot and be inspired. Photos from any camera are welcome.
The Rule of Thirds is hugely powerful but what else can we do this subject? What lighting changes could have made this image more powerful?
Beginners welcome. Ages 13-adult.
*This is part 1 of a 3 part class. Attending any one of the sessions qualifies you for upcoming Photo Walks and Image Conversation sessions that will be scheduled later.

- Handmade Chain: No Solder Necklace, Bracelet, or EarringsBlue Moose Art Gallery & Gifts, Fort Collins, CO$95.00
# Instructor Beth Liggitt ( New Artist & Instructor)
Friday, May 23, 2025 from 5:30-8:00 pm at the Blue Moose Art Gallery.
In this class you will learn how to form wire to create links, forming handmade chain lengths to be used in your finished jewelry piece. This is the perfect fun metalsmithing project for the beginner or for those with experience alike. You will choose the size and shape of each link, how they connect, and if they will be layered. (This is a fun way to make lightweight, airy earrings!) If you choose to make a necklace, you will make a strand for the center, and the remainder of your length will be regular chain with a handmade clasp. You will hammer texture the links to create strength and you will have the option to patina your links to add contrast.
Included Materials - For this project you have the option to work with bronze or silver fill, or a mix of the two. All tools and supplies will be included. This is up close detail work, please bring any magnification eyewear you would typically use for such work, any personal jewelry making tools that you prefer to use.
Please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing that can get dirty.
