In a collaboration with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Fort Collins Utilities modeled the future adoption of various distributed energy resources across the community and evaluated the resulting impacts on the distribution grid. This study has better informed annual load growth at various distribution feeders, and through prioritizing and incorporating energy efficiency and grid flexibility strategies into distribution planning efforts, Utilities can better maintain reliable, affordable electricity in Fort Collins.
