Electricity demand is accelerating across the United States, with many states scrambling to keep up amid system constraints and unpredictable federal actions.

Recent findings from an Energy Innovation report show that meeting forecasted electricity demand growth with a fossil fuel-heavy approach would add a staggering $29.7B to customer bills by 2030, whereas a clean energy scenario would reduce costs to meet load growth by $5.1B annually.

Analysis shows the U.S. can meet growing demand with clean energy, and a clean, resilient grid can reliably meet demand under even the most challenging weather conditions. But this is a pivotal moment.

The electricity industry is making decisions today that will determine what gets built by 2030, so good policy will have long-term implications for affordability, energy demand, and climate goals.

To learn more about the Energy Innovation report and the economics of clean energy, we'll be joined by Michelle Solomon, Manager of Energy Policy at Energy Innovation.
