Details
### Snowshoe Catherine Wolter Wilderness Area, Sunday February 22nd, 10:00 am-12:00 pm, meet at the trailhead on East Bay Road.
### Get outside and enjoy a winter adventure on snowshoes! Explore the snowy woods and scenic Northwoods forest along the Mark Musolf Family Trail near Presque Isle, WI. This 2.8-mile trail is slightly hilly, making it a fun and active morning for all ages and experience levels. This wilderness area, maintained by The Nature Conservancy, consists of 2,189 acres of northern forest and 15 lakes and ponds. This area also serves as a link between the 1-million-acre Ottawa National Forest, located to the north in Michigan, and the 220,000-acre Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest, located to the south in Wisconsin. The Border Lakes area (of which the Catherine Wolter Wilderness Area is a part) serves as a travel corridor for large-ranging mammals including timber wolves and possibly moose and Canada lynx. For those interested, there will be a socializing event after the snowshoe close by Presque Isle at the PI Pub. Hope you can join us on the trail.
