What we're about
1. The purpose of this club is to meet people in the DMV area who seek adventure and live an active lifestyle as well as to enjoy events together + make new friends. We do a huge range of events - that's how we roll.
2. This club is geared to anyone who is active, social, local, and enjoys social activities.
3. Outdoor activities, social events, adventure events, backpacking, hiking, and events around and outside of the DMV area are what we are about.
4. We require that our members post an accurate picture of who they are so we know who is showing up to our events and also so our members and organizers know who will be attending our events and for organizer safety for some of our events. We are a friends / social / adventure group and we need to see you in the picture to be part of our group. You need to be real to be part of our club for the benefit of our group! We are not a flaky meetup group.
5. If you like adventure live it up - you only live once so enjoy it while you can. we are open to event ideas - please send event ideas to our organizers.
6. We are not a flaky meetup group - don't sign up to our events if you are not going to show up to them - we are not interested in members who sign up but don't show up to our events and we may remove you from the group if you don't keep your RSVP.
No-Show and Last Minute Cancel Policy: No shows and people who cancel their RSVP last minute to our events may be removed from the group by any of our organizers at any time - sign up if you are coming to the event - members and organizers want to have an idea of who is showing up.
Per meetup policy, paid events are non-refundable - there are no refunds unless the time or date of the event has been changed or the event has been canceled.

Let's get together at Penguin Paddling and go kayaking on the Occoquan! What better way to relax and enjoy the outdoors than being out on the water? For those concerned, this is calm and peaceful water, not bumpy or choppy, so it will be great for beginners and all levels alike!
Meet time: 2:45 pm. Please allow time to register and pay.
Start Time: 3 pm
End Time: Let's plan to spend about 2 hours on the water, so we will wrap up by approximately 5 pm.
Kayaking rental fees:
Single Kayaks: $20/Hour
Double Kayaks: $25/Hour

- Pack accordingly. For example: sunscreen, appropriate clothing, hat, dry bag with necessities, water and snacks, and an extra dry change of clothes just in case you get wet, proper footwear, waterproof phone pouch.
- After we've worked up our appetites paddling on the Occoquan, we can decide on a place and have a bite and refreshments in Old Town Occoquan.
If rain is in the forecast, this event will be rescheduled.
