Come Play: Shackleton Base

Join us for a game night featuring Shackleton Base: A Journey to the Moon!

This is a deep and strategic Eurogame from designers Fabio Lopiano and Nestore Mangone. You'll lead a space agency in a collaborative effort to build a permanent lunar base in the real-world Shackleton crater. But it's not all cooperation—you'll also be competing with other agencies and three different corporations, each with their own goals and projects, to earn the most reputation and victory points.

Worker Placement with a Twist: You'll draft shuttles at the beginning of each of the game's three rounds to get your astronauts and determine turn order. Then, you'll place your three types of astronauts—Engineers, Technicians, and Scientists—on the main board to build structures, collect resources, and advance corporate projects. Timing is crucial, as the best spots on the board will be hotly contested!

You'll constantly be balancing your own agency's goals with the needs of the larger mission. You'll need to decide where to place your structures on the shared crater board to gain control of areas and resources, while also making sure you have enough credits and energy to maintain your operations.

This game is a fantastic blend of cooperation and competition with a satisfyingly crunchy set of decisions to make. We'll give a full rules rundown before we start, so whether you're a seasoned Eurogame veteran or a space exploration enthusiast, you're welcome to join the mission.
