We'll meet at the corner of Cole Street and Hanmer Street (on the Robertson Reserve side) and walk down to the Williamstown Botanic Gardens and along the Williamstown beachfront towards Seaholme.

We'll pass the Jawbone Marine Sanctuary and the Paisley Challis Wetlands before turning around and returning to the starting point via the beachfront.

We'll then return to the starting point and have a wander through the monthly Williamstown Farmers Market, which last time had a variety of different market stalls, coffee and food vans. hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au/visit/Experience/Markets/Williamstown-Farmers-Market. The local Rotary collects donations at the entrance to the market if you have a spare gold coin, or you can make a $2 donation by card at their sausage sizzle stall if you like.

IMPORTANT: We will not wait more than five minutes for latecomers so please try to arrive on time or early, especially if unfamiliar with the area. If running late, you can try to catch up with the group but do not expect host to send other detailed directions or reply to messages if you are running late - meetup sends messages on a delay, and host will be busy walking and talking, so not often checking their phone. The group will be walking down Hanmer St then Giffard St toward the beach, then taking the beachside path towards Altona. You could park closer to the beach and meet us on this path. If you have a choice between two paths once we reach the beach, the group will be taking the path that goes closest to the water.

We generally walk at about 5km an hour, without stopping too often.

Walk may be cancelled if the forecast for the day is thunderstorms or over 35 degrees - walk leader will send out a cancellation notice and update event listing if that is the case

There is plenty of 2 hr parking and limited all day parking near the start point.

Please note you can change your RSVP up until the walk start time (and you don't need to give a reason / leave a comment) but no shows will be removed from the group.
