This is initially an inquiry for setting up a standalone Mah Jongg group.
Let's get together to play American Mah Jongg in Northern Westchester. The group will gather to play Mah Jongg according to NMJL rules and for $$ per NMJL rules. There will be NO table rules (hot wall, cold wall, blanks, etc.) Initially this is for experienced players, but not necessarily expert. As the group grows, table set-up may be adjusted according to level, speed, etc. of the members. Classes/lessons may be added in the future for those that want to learn.
There will be a $30 cash fee per calendar year to be a member of the group since using the meetup system has a cost. Additionally, any classes/lessons will be paid separately when/if they are set up (price not yet determined).
Each player is required to have purchased an official NMJL card (currently 2025 version) & know the rules of play before coming to an event. Mah Jongg sets are NOT provided for all and I will ask to identify who has one to share in advance.
This group will be managed to be small in size, so players can get to know each other. Locations will be determined as the group develops but the goal is to meet in public places.
