Northern Hiking Friends

Plenty of parking. Dogs welcome.
We can meet in the courtyard where the cafes and toilets are (signposted).
We will then walk around the outside of the Temple Newsam hall and down through the woods and around the lake.
Its easy and most of it is pathed.
The walk will be about an hour to an hour and a half.
We can finish with a cup of tea.
Once you enter the grounds of Temple Newsam, follow any signs to "Go Ape" and you will see plenty of parking en-route.

Some of us are staying at Sills YHA on Saturday 27th Sept, so we can pick up the route easily.
We will walk along the wall for 10-20 miles, plus will visit the Sycamore gap site.

We can meet in the pub next door for tea on the Saturday night.
Shared dorms are approx £35pn and include bedding/ showers etc.

England's highest mountain, based in the Lakes.
978 meters.
Scafell Pike is the 3rd highest in the UK, next to Ben Nevis and Snowdon.
This is challenging.
We are staying over at the local YHA on Sat 4th Oct.
We are planning the Wasdale route, where there is also a car park and pub. This is the most straight forward route, however, is also uphill from the start.
