The North Florida Trailblazers’ Chapter of the Florida Trail Association presents:

The 2023 Suwannee River Ididahike

Come hike and be a part of our fund raiser to support our Florida National Scenic Trail along the famous Suwannee River.
This section of the Florida National Scenic Trail passes the famous Big Shoals Rapids (the largest rapid in the state of Florida), beautiful Robinson Branch Creek and Falls, Bell Springs, 2 high bluffs (100 feet above the river) and the Little Shoals Rapids, all while on the sandy, forested banks of the Suwannee River!

Choose from hikes of 3.4, 5.6, 6.8, 8.3 miles or finish the entire Ididahike at 11.3 miles! At any one of these 4 location a shuttle will return you to registration. The day and hike begins at the Ball Park in White Springs, Florida with a $25 ticket, paid with cash, check or credit card at the event or pre register and pay at floridatrail.org/Ididahike. T-shirts will also be available for purchase at the event or at pre registration via Florida trail.org/Ididahike. We recommend that you purchase the shirts through this link. After registration present your ticket for a shuttle bus ride to the trailhead. Registration SIGN IN and SIGN OUT is a must for safety reasons so please do not forget to sign out. Shuttle to trail head begins at 8:00 am and runs until 11:00 am. After being shuttled to the trailhead hikers will then hike back to the Ball Field, or return shuttle from an aid station.
Bring plenty of water, bug spray, snacks, appropriate clothing and footwear to support you and your hiking party for the hike.

There will be a spaghetti dinner at Nellie Bly’s kitchen after the hike inside Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park, White Springs Fl from 5pm till 6:30 pm. A simple menu
Including all homemade meat sauce, italian dressing, baguettes, and unsweetened tea will be served. Deserts supplied by volunteers. Cost $15

For camping accommodations

Floridas Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park, White Springs Fl is closest to the event.
If you can’t get a camp site reservation at SFSP you may tent camp in the park overflow field Friday and Saturday only. The field is 50 yards from a bathhouse and potable water. Cost $5 per person per night. Use the pay envelope at the main gate and be sure to write overflow campgrounds on it.

Southern Cravins Food Truck will be on site from 8am til 3 pm. Southern Cravins serves breakfast sandwiches as well as burgers, fries, cold cuts and other sandwiches. There menu will be added to the photo section of this meetup posting.
