Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve Hike

Details
Enjoy a 3- mile hike at Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve as well as some light history discussion of the area. The Hike will be approximately three miles through the Theodore Roosevelt area near the Fort Caroline neighborhood of Jacksonville. We will hike pass the foundation of Willie Browne’s Cabin and out to the St Johns River via the Willie Browne & Timucuan Trails.
We will be meeting at 8:00 AM at the Theodore Roosevelt Parking Area. Much of the trail is shaded. Closer to the river the trail becomes uneven and there are slight elevation changes. Highly recommend close toed shoes, sun protection, and insect repellent. Hikers must bring water due to the hot and humid conditions and are asked to make a personal emergency medical card to keep on their person during the hike. Strollers and very young children are discouraged due to the trail conditions.
