Let's check out that red trail of the GTM. We will meet at the trailhead by the bathroom and hike part of the yellow trail, part of the purple trail and then complete the red trail loop. This will be a moderate pace hike for about 8-miles of beautiful forest and at times water views. You MUST be able to manage this many miles and you MUST have water in order to attend. These trails are mostly flat with lots of shade. There are 2 parking areas. When you pull in, you will enter a large parking area and if you continue straight, there is a smaller parking area at the trailhead. You can park at either. Look for FTA signs.
There is a $3.00 parking fee, and you must pay using your phone (to scan the QR code) and a credit card. There have been issues with some not having cellular service there. If you think you may have difficulty, click here
