Jacksonville is fortunate to have many parks that have walking trails. At the very back of Ringhaver Park, past all of the soccer fields is The Ortega Stream Valley trail. It is a short shady walk that leads down to the Ortega River. The walk starts on a dirt path with some roots (possible trip hazards) and then progresses to boardwalks and then a paved route. The whole trail is less than 2 miles but offers shade, usually lots of birds, and a boardwalk out to a floating dock.

Please make sure to bring water as it’s already getting hot out there!

Also recommend sunscreen, bug spray, and a hat.
