Expect an easy 2 mph hike comfortable for beginning or intermediate hikers through the Nocatee Preserve, which is beautiful now! Expect to hear lots of birdsong and to enjoy the many shades of green around us.
Cypress swamps, floodplain forest, wet flatwoods, and estuaries surround the slightly elevated Main Trail. This will be an out-and-back hike, four miles total, on a flat trail. Bring water, a hat, bug spray, and sturdy shoes. The trail is parallel to a waterway, so spraying for mosquitos is recommended. Plan to arrive promptly. There are restrooms at the trailhead.

Set your GPS for Nocatee Preserve Trailhead. (DO NOT turn into Davis Park Preserve.) Continue straight on Davis Park Road for 1 mile to the end of Davis Park Road, where the trailhead is for Nocatee Preserve. The parking lot is on your right after many sports fields for the high school there. Look for a Florida Trail sign at the picnic table.
