Hike the Pioneer Trail

READ ALL!! Let's enjoy some shaded beauty on a hot Florida summer morning. This will be a total of 5-miles, linear out and back hike. This will be a moderate pace hike so be prepared to walk 20-minute miles. We will start at the southernmost trailhead, Indian Ford Recreation Area. We will hike approximately 2.5-miles to the Knight's Landing Trailhead and turn around to hike back. You MUST carry water for this hike. This is June in Florida, and it will be Hot...Hot...Hot. Also, suggest sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, snacks, and bug spray. There are no bathrooms in the parking lot or along the trail.

We will meet at the Indian Ford Recreation Area trailhead located at Indian Ford Road, Middleburg, Fl 32068. Follow the Florida Trail signs. The GPS coordinates are 30.112062,-81.915290. Look for the North FL Trailblazer signs.

This event will be held rain or shine but will be cancelled if there is a heavy downpour and/or lightning.

There is ample parking with a $2.00 parking fee you can pay once there using a QR code.
