A SuperMeetup based around possible uses of government open data (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_data) is being organized for March 25th.

Its Winnipeg’s grass root innovation communities getting together to do open data startups that make our community a better place. Examples could include crowdsourcing pothole identification or an app that uses GPS and city snow clearing data to ensure citizens avoid tickets for parking during snow clearing bans.

It's about connecting the startup, design, media and technology communities to provide solutions using government open data? Citizens getting together to do open data startups that make our community a better place.

Kyle Geske, Co-founder of Open Democracy Manitoba (http://opendemocracymanitoba.ca/) and RRC IT Instructor

Jody Gillis, RRC IT Instructor teaches a course on building mobile apps using open data.

Jody and Kyle will brief the crowd on possible open data sets and their possible uses.
