Camp Salmen Nature Trail 4 mile Hike - no dogs

Details
Hi NSCO Hikers!
Join me this Sunday at Slidell 's pride & Joy, Camp Salmen; a hidden jewel in our city limits! Unfortunately, Camp Salmen doesn't allow dogs ๐ถ Please keep your RSVPs up to date. If you say yes & change your mind, change it to reflect. Otherwise, we wait 15 minutes for a person that doesn't show up - not cool ๐ง๐ง๐ง
Camp Salmen began as a trading post with the local Choctaw tribe and ferry operation on Bayou liberty in the late 18th and early 19th century. The tract was originally purchased by lake trader Joseph Laurent as land grant through the Spanish colonial government. Salmen Brick & Lumber Co. bought the land in 1901 and conducted timbering operations there until 1924 when they donated the land to Boy Scouts of America. The Parish bought the property in 2002 and opened it to the public in 2010. Camp Salmen Nature Park is off of Gause Blvd. The park is not very big and can be traversed easily on foot.
