A Cappella In the Barbershop Harmony Style

The Barbershop Harmony Society is celebrating 80 years of bringing harmony to the world. There are chapters almost everywhere you go, and we are proud to be the chapter that keeps men from the Northshore singing!

We are proud to say that we welcome and will challenge singers of all levels. If you are a shower singer but haven't had the opportunity to get an ovation for your talents, or if you are experienced but are looking for a place to learn the art and challenge of tuning a chord with 3 other voices, we are the place for you.

It may not be accurate to say it is easy. It takes some discipline to grow and develop any skill, but we have the resources and experience to help make it fun and fulfilling as we all support one another.

We mostly learn to sing in chorus formation allowing us to work together as a team to create a large sound even though some of us may be shy with our voice.

There is also opportunity to try quartet singing where you will be the only person on your part. It is not easy at first, but you will experience no greater joy than that first time that you hear that chord ring and you know that your voice made it happen.

We often refer to ourselves as a vocal fraternity.
