Restaurant Sarajevo
The Restaurant Sarajevo offering a more family friendly atmosphere while always providing a welcoming environment. Restaurant Sarajevo offers a fun and socially interactive atmosphere, a unique restaurant layout, a festive atmosphere which is entertaining and fun for our guests.
It is our belief that the authenticity, quality, freshness and consistency of our food are paramount to the long-term success of Restaurant Sarajevo. Our menu features a wide variety of homemade Bosnian specialties. Our chefs make regular trips to market to handpick the freshest of specialty ingredients and herbs necessary to make wonderful homemade dishes. Daily specials designed for the season take advantage of the bounty of fresh produce, fish and meat products available to our culinary staff. Bosnian cuisine
Balkan cuisine uses many spices; but usually in very small quantities. Most dishes are light, as they are cooked in lots of water; the sauces are fully natural, consisting of little more than the natural juices of the vegetables in the dish.
Typical ingredients include tomatoes, potatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, cucumbers, carrots, cabbage, mushrooms, spinach, courgettes, fresh beans, plums, milk, and cream cheese called Kajmak.
Bosnian and Croatian cuisine is balanced between Western and Eastern influences. Bosnian food is closely related to Turkish, Greek, Italian and other Mediterranean cuisines. However, due to years of Austrian rule, there are many influences from Central Europe.
Typical meat dishes include primarily beef and lamb. We also have a variaty of seafood dishes. Some local specialties are cevapcici (are absolutely delicious), Kajmak, Bosnian Style Oven Roasted Veal, Bosnian Mix Plate and Pljeskavica.
Our Turkish cusine dishes include: Kebaps, Cevapcici, Dolmas (staffed cabbage), Borek (special order - please call), Lamb dishes, Turkish coffee and Kadaif.
