An approach from New Abbey enables the ascent of Criffel - the finest viewpoint in the area - to be made into a varied 7.5 mile circular walk.

Toliet at the start of the walk nearby.

Bring food, drinks and warm clothing including wet gear. It'll be winter, cold and hopefully dry!

TERRAIN
Mostly good paths; some livestock on section near Loch Kindar. Heather path across the hill from the summit to Knockendoch can be boggy; descent has improved path.

Drive to Sweetheart Abbey, New Abbey an park there. We'll return to the car park afterwards.
