Philosophical vs Folk Conceptions of Time

Details
This is a cross-linked event of the Philosophical Club about time.
Does your AGI structure/architecture have a theory of time?
Time is a troublesome issue in AGI right along with ponderous themes like consciousness and understanding. We all know what these issues are, but the challenge is creating a unified, coherent structure.
In AGI/AI, it seems like scant attention is often given to the development of a robust theory of time. When people worry about time, it's usually centered around how fast (or slow) their software runs. If the software is running right now, in the present, that pretty much covers it -- it "understands" the concept of present implicitly. But that isn't a theory; it just happens to work.
So this is our opportunity to consider time, starting from scratch.
