Just under 10 miles with 300m of accumulated ascent
We’ll set off from outside the Strickland Arms pub & make our way into the grounds of Sizergh Castle. We’ll continue up towards Scout Scar, pausing at the toposcope (see featured picture) for views across to the central lakeland fells before we come across the shelter at the summit known as ‘the mushroom.’ This was originally built in 1912 as a memorial to King George V.
We will drop down at the base of Kendal where we will pick up our return route alongside the River Kent.
