Goat Lake

Details
Heading home from Portugal today and decided it’s time to hike. Luckily we have been walking every day. I know there is more than one Goat Lake. We will hike North Cascades, Mountain Loop Highway Goat Lake.
10.4 miles roundtrip with an elevation gain of 1,400 feet and highest point is 3,161 feet. A nice hike with plenty of variety. Beautiful forest, rushing creeks, waterfalls and the large beautiful lake itself. The trail starts at the far end of the large parking lot. Luckily most of us try and carpool. Let's meet at 9:15 and be ready to hike by 9:30 am.

Northwest Forest Pass.
Take the Mountain Loop Highway east from Granite Falls. Pass by the Verlot Ranger Station. Continue to the end of the pavement (about 31 miles from Granite Falls), and then go another 3.5 miles. Turn right at the road signed Elliot and Goat Lakes. This is FR-4080, but the road number is not clearly marked. The parking lot is at the end of the good gravel road.
