Ira Spring Trail Mason Lake

Details

7.0 miles roundtrip, elevation gain 2420 feet and highest point 4,320 feet.
Parking pass, Northwest Forest Pass.
From the parking lot, the trail meanders through the forest and gently climbs long switchbacks until reaching Mason Creek. This is a steep but doable hike. We will not hike Bandera mountain. I plan on stopping at the lake for a snack. I haven't done this hike since last summer, but it usually takes about 4 hours round trip.
The weather is looking cooler for Friday with a slight chance of rain and then sun. Let's plan on meeting at the trailhead by 9am and start hiking by 9:15. There is a privy at the trailhead.
Driving directions:
From Seattle, drive east on I-90 to exit 45. Turn left and cross under the highway, then veer left onto FR-9030. About one mile from the exit, stay left at the fork onto Mason Lake Road. FR9031. Park in the lot at the end of this road, 3.8 miles from the highway.
