Annette Lake
Details
Tracy led this hike in May 2024, when all the leaves were on the trees and the understory plants were in their full glory. It will look different at this time of year, with more openings for daylight to reach the trail. Yay for that!
Recent trip reports mention some snow and ice in places on the trail, so bring your spikes and poles. In case of wind at the lake, extra layers will be good too.
The Annette Lake trail begins just to the right of an information kiosk and the Asahel Curtis nature trail. As we start down the trail we will encounter our native Douglas Fir, hemlock and cedar, and at 0.2 miles, cross over Humpback Creek, where we'll hear and see one of the best tumbling falls in Washington.
Let's meet at the trailhead at 9:15 and be ready to hike by 9:30.
Toilets are located on the north side of the parking lot; whether they are open is unknown. Be prepared : )

Parking pass is Northwest Forest Pass (or Senior America the Beautiful). Surely no sno park pass is required with a bare and wet parking lot, but we'll call the ranger station Monday morning to be sure.

highest point 3,600 feet
