Sharon has come up with a great road trip idea: two historic central Texas truss bridges: Old Sugarloaf Bridge (Gause, Texas) & Piano Bridge (Schulenburg, Texas)

STOP 1 – Old Sugarloaf Bridge

About the Bridge:
Historic Parker through-truss pedestrian bridge over the Little River. Excellent symmetry and truss detail opportunities.

Parking:
Designated gravel parking area at the bridge entrance. Easy walk onto the bridge and access to riverbank views.

Recommended Shooting Time: 45–60 minutes

Lens Suggestions:
• 35mm – Full bridge symmetry, walk-through perspective
• 70–200mm – Truss patterns, compression shots, river framing

Gravel pull-off near bridge entrance. Park fully off roadway and walk carefully.

• 35mm – Full structure and landscape context
• 70–200mm – Iron details, bolts, truss intersections, graphic compositions

Best Light: Midday to early afternoon
