Join us on Sunday, June 29th @ 10am, for the Fort to Sea trail, near Astoria, Oregon. It's about a 1.5-2 hour drive from Portland, so carpooling is recommended (See parking fees below).
This trail starts off at the Fort Clatsop Visitor Center, and goes through rugged Coastal forests, down to the beach. There we can break and have lunch if we want, then head back the way we came, albeit along a few different trails.
The trails can be rooty, but for the most part, smooth single track, with some potential gravel and eventually sand towards the middle. The hard part here will be distance, and potential weather. Otherwise, the elevation gain is manageable.
Afterwards, we can head to a waterfront eatery / brewery in Astoria, if the weather is nice!
I looked up camping options in the area (there are lots of places, but few available) and if you're lucky enough to get a spot in Fort Stevens, or the Warrenton KOA, it might make for a nice weekend. It's the weekend before Independence Day, so good luck!
As this is a National Park Site, entrance is $10 per person, no matter how many people are in the car. However, an annual pass is $35 for a vehicle and it covers all persons in the car. If you carpool with 4 people, it might be worth that option.

If sunny, plan on sunscreen and water. It can get pretty windy as well, so an added layer to block the morning breeze could be helpful.
