Run @ Cape Horn (Loop->7 mi/1300 ft ups)

Deets:
Distance: 7 mile trail run
Gain: 1300 feet
Start: Salmon Falls Park and Ride TH
After: Trap Door Brewing Washougal

The loop is back open (after seasonal Peregrine Falcon closure). This area is kind of the Crown Point (w/Vista House) equivalent on the WA side, and features equally impressive views (better in my opinion) of the Gorge looking east.

Meet: We'll park and meetup at the main trailhead, which is off of Hwy 14 and Salmon Falls Rd., at 6:10 pm. No parking pass is required.

Run: Approximately 7 miles, with 1300 feet of climbing. 5.5 miles on trail, with a 1.5 mile road section at the end (ugh, I know!).

Difficulty: This is a moderately difficult trail run, rated 🍩🍩.5 (2.5/5 donuts). It's an easier Gorge run, with some steep and rocky/rooty sections. See below...

🍩🍩 - Most NWTR Forest Park runs (5-7 miles, 500-1000 ft ups)...little experience necessary
🍩🍩🍩 - Easier technical Gorge/Mtns (7-12 miles, 1000-2500 ft ups)...a bit more experience may be necessary
🍩🍩🍩🍩 - More technical, longer, steeper (12-20 miles, 2500-5000 ft ups)...seasoned trail runner, with much more experience in the mtns
🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩 - Most difficult and technical (20+ miles, 5000+ ft ups)...marathon, ultra-runners only
