Laurelhurst Run & the Vaux's Swifts - EARLY START! (Paved run on the NE side)

Details
NOTE EARLY START @ 6:00pm!!!
Distance: 4.25 mile paved loop run (more loops = more miles)
Gain: 240 feet
Start: NE Glisan St at NE 32nd Ave (near Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral)
After: Picnic and Vaux's Swifts Watch
Parking: Park in the neighborhood near the cathedral
Last year I saw the migrating Vaux's Swifts roosting in the chimney of a cathedral in the Laurelhurst park area. If you have never seen these amazing birds roosting at the end of the day during their fall migration it is worth the effort. We'll go for a chill but lovely run at nearby Laurelhurst Park and then have a picnic in the grass across the street.
Bring a blanket to sit on afterwards and something to eat. We'll get back to the grassy area across the street from the Cathedral around 6:45 and relax for the Swifts Watch. Fingers crossed that we actually see them roosting this year. If you can't make it for the run, come for Swifts Watch and the good company!
