Details
## Details!!
Distance: 9 mile trail run (with some off-trail (rock scrambling)
Gain: 1,750 feet
Start: Government Camp (in front of Charlie's Mountain View Restaurant)
After: Charlie's
Saturday (September 13th) we'll be heading up to THE mountain for this annual NWTR classic. I've done this group run for the last five years, and it is easily one of my favorites.
Quick things...
- This run will be capped at 12 participants, owing to the terrain and the fact that we'll be crossing into the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness.
- Headlamps are required! The run will end in the dark, so please prepare in advance.
- This is a semi-technical to technical trail run (rocky and steep sections). Part of this run (perhaps 0.5 miles) is on an unmaintained trail, and is quite technical (rock hopping, etc). We'll maintain a steady pace, and the hope is to keep everyone together during the unmarked off-trail sections.
This is an 8-9 mile trail run (1,750 feet of elevation), with half single track trails, last half on gravel forest and paved roads. It's a (counter-clockwise) loop run, starting at Charlie's in Government Camp, over to the Mirror Lake TH, up the trail, past the lake, up to the ridge, over to Skibowl, and back down from there into town.

In regards to driving, car pools are optional, but encouraged if possible (dependent upon comfort level of course). I'll be coming from Camas, and can pick up anyone from the 205 area and east of there, although I'm not sure I would leave my car at the Park Rose/Sumner Transit Station (we've had break-ins in the past). A good place to meet would be around Fairview, or up in Sandy (Fred Meyers). Message below if you would like to, and we can arrange something.
There is the option for beverages and food afterwards if interested. We'll be at Charlie's.
Again...
Time: Run starts at 5:45pm sharp, should be done around 8pm
Meeting place: Charlie's (Government Camp)
Run: 8-9 miles/1,750 ft elevation gain
Pace: Chill running. Not fast, but also not too slow. No hikers/walkers please!
Bring: HEADLAMP!! Water and food if needed. Picture snappy thingy.
Temp: Should be in 60's. Temps sink fast around sunset. Extra layer may be needed during second half of run going downhill.
This is a 3 donut run. ;-)
