THIS IS A CHALLENGING RUN. EXPERIENCED TRAIL RUNNERS ONLY.
Join us on Sunday, March 29th @ 10am at the Elk Mountain Trailhead in the Tillamook State Forest for a grind of a climb and a heck of a loop around Elk Mtn and Kings Mtn. We will meet in the parking area past the campground. Once you turn off the main road, Hwy 6, go past the campground area to the farthest point that you can drive, and park in that lot.

If you have never been to Elk Mtn before, let me tell you, the first 1.3 miles will leave you huffing and puffing, and just walking up is a badge of honor. '1800 feet to the top of Elk and the run has barely begun! Good news, is after that, the real fun begins! There are runnable forest trails, ropes, and another peak to bag!

The route goes up to Elk Mtn, then drops a bit before climbing steadily through the forest to the top of Kings Mtn. Hopefully the views will be amazing. Then the killer downhill (Quads beware!) until you get back to the Wilson River Trail that takes you back to the car. The length is not much, but the elevation makes up for it!

Remember that it is spring, so the weather could be amazing and nasty, all in the same day. These trails are in the Tillamook State Forest which is in the Oregon Coast Range, so come prepared. There is always the potential for snow up higher, so please be prepared for wintery conditions
