Rose Garden-Wildwood Up & Over (Trail run in Forest Park)

Distance: 6.2 mile trail run
Gain: 1,329 feet
Start: Washington Park Tennis Courts (trailhead / steps across parking area)
After: Fehrenbacher Hof - SW 19th Ave

Portland is the city of roses and it's rose season! Let’s meet at Washington Park Tennis Courts for a trail run on Wildwood trail. This run is an out and back on Wildwood trail, but it has a couple of good hills in the middle to keep it interesting. Let's remember to stop and smell the roses at the Rose Garden.

Route description:
-From the tennis courts, cross the street to the stairs
-Run along the fence at the edge of the Japanese Garden
-Right onto Wildwood trail
-Pass through the Pittock Mansion parking lot
-Stay on Wildwood down to Cornell Rd.
-Turn around and go back up to the Pittock Mansion overlook (through the parking lot, after the mansion)
-We'll regroup at the overlook
-Return the way we came, staying on Wildwood trail
-Left at the sign toward the Japanese Garden.
-Along the fence, down the stairs, and back to the tennis courts.

After the run, let's head over to Fehrenbacher Hof. They have yummy breakfast sandwiches, coffee, tea, and pastries.
