Leif: Firelane-1-coaster (Trail run in Forest Park)

Distance: 6.4 mile trail run
Gain: 797 feet
Start: Leif Erickson trail @ NW Thurman St.
After: Dragonfly Coffee House - NW Thurman St

It’s Firelane-1-coaster time! This is a variant of Naturecoaster where the first third of the run takes us up up up, then we get a glorious long coast back to the start on Firelane 1 and a few other trails including a cool down on Leif back to the start. Strap on your running shoes and enjoy the ride!

Afterwards we’ll rendezvous at Dragonfly Coffee House for coffee, pastries, breakfast burritos and cozy picnic table chats as the sun warms our hearts.

Here’s the route:

• Start at Leif Erikson Trailhead at the end of NW Thurman St
• Run up Leif, 0.3 mi
• Left up Wild Cherry crossing Wildwood, 0.8 mi
• Right up Dogwood to Keil, 0.1 mi
• Right up, then down Keil, 0.15 mi
• Left onto Wildwood Trail, 1.5 mi
• Left up Morak shortcut, 0.1 mi
• Right down Firelane 1, 0.2 mi
• Right again at the junction to stay on Firelane 1, 0.5 mi
• Right on Leif back to the gate, 3.0 mi
