Register with Art League here! - Paddle the Turtle River from North Turtle Lake in Winchester to Cedar LakeNorth Turtle Lake Boat Landing, Winchester, WI
We plan to explore the shoreline of North Turtle Lake and then paddle down the Turtle River to the Cedar Lake boat landing. This section of the Turtle River is best paddled early in the season to insure good water levels. It's entirely possible that there will be beaver dams to portage around that are not that easy, so wear water boots if you have them and have a rope in your boat! It is a long paddle, but there should be places to get out to stretch legs if necessary.
So, if you have wanted to try this paddle, but haven't had the opportunity to, or if it has been a while, plan to join us.
We will meet at the North Turtle Lake Boat Landing at 10:30am to set up our shuttle. See map below or go to this link and click on "Map" or "Boat Landing": North Turtle Boat Landing
Bring your boat, paddle, life vest, and gear in addition to water, your lunch, and any snacks you may want. Dress appropriately for the weather and for cold water! Extra clothes in your dry bag are a must!
Hope for a good weather day! - FULL! Waitlist! for Eco-Friendly Dryer Balls Workshop- Boulder Junction LibraryBoulder Junction Library, Boulder Junction, WI
The Boulder Junction Public Library will be offering a Felted Dryer Ball Workshop with Darcy Lanz-Sage on Wednesday, May 14 from 10am to 12pm. Participation is free, but registration is required, and class size is limited to 15 people. The class will be held in the Boulder Junction Community Center.
Join Darcy in this workshop where you will make your own decorative, 100% wool, eco-friendly dryer balls. Fabric softeners and dryer sheets can be harmful to you and to the environment. An alternative method to softening your clothes is to use Wool Dryer Balls. Wool has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties, and dryer balls will dry your clothes a bit faster; thus, reducing the amount of electricity used! All materials will be provided. Participants will leave with 1 set (of 3) decorative dryer balls.
