Glide Back Into the Joy of Ice Skating; on a ribbon of ice woven thru the woods!

Join skating Guru and Northwoods Adventurer, Tim "Fitz" Fitzgerald for a fun glide at Winter Park in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin.
The Glide is a beautiful .8 mile skate winding through the woods, with an additional rink and a warming hut on site. A limited number of skates are available to use free of charge at the location, and rentals are also available at Coontail. Please bring along a helmut and ice cleats if you have them.

Curious about Nordic Skating? Fitz will have 4 pairs (along with boots) for demo, along with plenty of expertise to share. He'll be on hand from 11:00am- 1:00 pm to offer tips, answer questions, and help you get the most out of your skating!!! Hot water and hot chocolate will also be available to keep you warm.

Whether you RSVP or just swing by, we'd love to see you between 11 and 1!

Following the event, participants may opt to gather at a local Boulder Junction Restaurant.

As in all sports and outdoor activities, we need to be aware that there is the potential for injury and take the necessary precautions. Please refer to the safety notes put out by the Boulder Junction Parks Board, regarding the icy conditions at the park:

Safety Notes:

• Please exercise caution in the parking lot and walking areas around the pavilion and warming hut. These areas can be very icy, so we strongly recommend wearing ice cleats for added safety.
• As always, we encourage all skaters to wear helmets. Remember, the ice is slippery, and safety is our top priority.

Directions: From downtown Boulder Junction, turn right on Old Hwy K (at Coontail Corner) and go about .25 miles. Winter Park will be on the right.
