About us

Active adventures, real connections – from local trails to weekend escapes.

Welcome to Norwich Nomads – an active, outdoorsy community for people who’d rather be on a trail, in a kayak or around a campfire than stuck in a noisy bar.

We’re mainly aimed at people roughly 20–40, but everyone with the right attitude is welcome; it’s a guide, not a hard rule.

We’re all about hikes, walks, kayaking, paddleboarding, camping, weekends away and the occasional trip further afield. You don’t need to be a digital nomad to join – but a sense of adventure is essential.

The focus is on doing things, not just drinking or making small talk – think shared adventures, good conversations and a group that actually feels like a community.

Most events will be based in and around Norwich and Norfolk: coastal walks, countryside hikes, Broads paddles, camping, active events and local days out.

We’ll also mix in UK weekend trips (Peaks, Lakes, Wales, Scotland) and, occasionally, adventures abroad when there’s enough interest – such as trips away, remote‑working weeks or specific adventure trips.

We also run remote‑working days: some in the city at cafés or coworking spots, and some “work from anywhere” style trips where people can log on by day and explore together before or after work. This makes it easier to travel and still keep on top of life and work.

Everyone is welcome – whether you’re new to the area, rebuilding your social circle, or just want more active friends.

You don’t need to be super fit or have all the gear; we’ll clearly label events from gentle/social to more challenging, and we’ll always keep things supportive and inclusive.

GROUP GUIDELINES (PLEASE READ BEFORE JOINING EVENTS)

To keep Norwich Nomads friendly and safe for everyone:

```
Profile photo required
Please have a clear, recognisable profile picture (of you, not a logo or cartoon). This helps with safety and makes it easier to recognise each other at events.
Respect and behaviour
No creeping, harassment or unwanted attention.
No racism, sexism, homophobia or discrimination of any kind.
Respect people’s boundaries – physical and emotional. If someone isn’t interested in chatting or anything more, accept it and move on.
This is not a dating group
Friendships and connections happen naturally, but the primary purpose is shared activities and community. If your main goal is to hit on people, this isn’t the right place.
Consent for photos
Ask before taking close‑up photos of people or tagging them online. If someone asks you not to post a photo of them, please respect that.
Safety and responsibility
You join events at your own risk. Listen to the organiser/host, follow any safety guidance from third parties or professionals, and make sure you’re realistically capable of the activity level. Let the host know if you’re struggling or need to leave early.
Be welcoming
We all remember what it’s like turning up to a group for the first time. Say hi to new faces, include people in conversation and avoid cliques where possible.
```

Anyone who ignores these guidelines or makes others feel unsafe may be asked not to attend future events and could be removed from the group.

We want Norwich Nomads to stay a chilled, respectful and enjoyable space for everyone.
