This is so true! Portraits are so much about how you interact with your subject, how you have made them feel comfortable (or put them on the backfoot!), about how much you have got under their skin to understand them, about their mojo, their secret passions, and so much more! Corny though it sounds, it really is about exposing the SOUL!

In the header picture, Fabulous Miss K, had explained to me she was like a solar panel, charging up whenever the sun came out... I knew exactly how she felt! And it was therefore natural to take her 'charging her energy levels'. A simple portrait of Karen basking in the sun was the result.

This WORKSHOP will be a practical one packed full of advice and tips. You will have opportunities to photograph 3 or more models individually. See the images added to this meetup description to see who you will be photographing!

We will meet at the cathedral in Norwich and learn the following:-

• relaxation techniques (for you and your subject!)
• posing techniques
• lighting tips
• equipment advice
• grouping people
• formal portraits
• candid style portraits
• maximising your subject's best features

Bring with you any style of camera or mobile phone. If you have interchangeable zoom lenses or prime (fixed focal length lenses), the ideal ones to bring are any that cover the range 70mm to 105mm, the optimum is 85mm. But any camera can take amazing portraits! You're welcome to bring flash if you wish, but this workshop will make the most of beautiful natural light in shade mostly.

This workshop has been planned for a while but I just been holding off for a great weather forecast, which is what we have to look forward to on Sunday! So I really hope you can make it.
