What we’re about
Welcome to Not Another Afro Group! This Meetup community is for anyone looking to break out of the typical club scene and explore new, exciting events. Our interests lean towards Afro/Soca vibes, but we’re all about variety and spontaneity. Whether it’s a networking event, a cultural celebration, or a chill study session at the library, we’ve got something for everyone.
This group is perfect for those who want to drop in for interesting activities without the commitment of regular attendance. As someone who works full-time, is building a business, and loves to travel frequently, my availability is limited. I aim to post events I’m attending as much as possible, but this could range from 2-3 times a month to occasionally none at all. Sometimes, I might host online chats to share my travels and have discussions.
In about 9 months, I’ll be transitioning to living abroad, so my presence will be even less frequent. Despite this, I’m committed to making an effort to attend and announce exciting events whenever I can.
Our goal is to meet new people, make potential friends, and organically build our networks. We encourage members to be considerate by updating their RSVPs and to suggest events they come across that might be of interest. Let’s create a dynamic, fun, and supportive community together!
